Little Egg Harbor packs its biggest public fall events into the eight days from Saturday, October 10, to Saturday, October 17. Two of those days take over the Pinelands Regional campus on Nugentown Road. One Friday night fills the Community Center lot on West Cala Breeze Way. Almost none of it costs a resident anything. A volunteer program, the township recreation department, and a list of local businesses, each named as the sponsor of one specific attraction, keep it going.

The car show has a rain date of Sunday, October 11. The library is at 290 Mathistown Road. Both Saturdays use the Pinelands Regional campus, and the two event pages list it at slightly different Nugentown Road addresses, 590 and 565.
The First Saturday Belongs to a Girls' Team
The car show is a fundraiser, not a township event. The Touchdowns & Tailpipes show is in its second year and benefits the Pinelands Wildcats Girls Flag Football Program, which the event listing describes as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Organizers expect more than 200 classic cars, muscle cars, trucks, motorcycles, and custom builds. There will also be food trucks, local vendors, raffle baskets, a 50/50, door prizes, music, and awards.
Vehicle owners can register on the day for $20, with payment due at the show. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Setup and registration run from 8 to 10 a.m. As of the listing, the program was still taking vendors, sponsors, and raffle prize donations from local businesses and residents. A car owner who registers late or a business with a gift basket can still get into the show.
Friday Has Two Township Events, Six Hours Apart
October 16 gives residents two ways to meet the township in person. At 12:30 p.m., the Ocean County Library hosts Meet the Little Egg Harbor Township Committee at the Little Egg Harbor Branch, and the library asks people to register. That evening, the township's recreation department runs Trunk or Treat across town at the Community Center.
The trunks are residents' own cars. Vehicles must be registered by October 9: fill out the form on the township website and email it to the recreation contact listed there. Participating cars must arrive by 5 p.m. to park and decorate, and be ready to hand out candy at 6. The event is free and includes food trucks, face painting, games, and free pumpkins. Sound Master DJs will provide the music. At 8:15, everyone moves inside the Community Center for a screening of "Hocus Pocus" that runs until 10 p.m.
The Friday deadline matters for a household planning to decorate a car. Registration closes the day before the car show, a full week before the event.
How the Harvest Festival Stays Free
The Little Egg Harbor Chamber of Commerce runs the Harvest Festival on October 17. Admission is free, and families get free activities throughout the day. WJRZ's October 6 preview also mentions complimentary rides, free pony rides, and family portraits by a professional photographer.
The Chamber credits local sponsors with making those extras possible, one attraction at a time. Its festival page lists the confirmed 2026 sponsors attraction by attraction:
- DAWG Pro Wrestling, a live showcase on the entertainment schedule: Law Office of Richard Kitrick, Esq., and Doyle's Pour House, among others
- Petting Zoo by Happy Trails: Stewart Title Company, First Alliance Home Mortgage, and Trish Horner
- Dixie Dragonfly Swing Ride, ten swings that hold up to 20 adults or 30 children at a time: Fortune Title Agency, Tuckerton Car Wash, and Great Bay Marina
- Dixie Spinout: Southern Ocean Consulting, Maxwell Funeral Home, and Laneys Heating and Cooling
- Halloween Maze, about 30 by 30 feet and 14 feet high: Whitaker Painting, among others
- Halloween Obstacle Course, a 42-foot inflatable: LBI National Golf & Resort
- Face Painting, a six-hour appearance: Mystic Island Pizza and AshRon Improvements
- Free Family Photographs, with a fall backdrop and a digital code for the images: Baker's Acres Campground
- Main Stage, with music or entertainment all day: Streamline Auto Body
Happy Trails also provides the pony rides, and a returning roaming magician and a balloon artist will be working the crowd.
The same page shows which items had no sponsor when it was captured. A 24-foot Spooky Slide for guests at least 36 inches tall is marked pending, with an application submitted to OceanFirst. The Chamber says pending does not mean confirmed. A caricaturist who would draw about 15 free portraits an hour is still open for a sponsor. So are two festival jitneys that would carry guests to and from the outer parking lots.
The jitneys matter most on the day. If nobody sponsors the shuttles, anyone parking in the outer lots should plan to walk to the festival. The Chamber also says activities and vendors may change as plans are finalized, so the current flyer on its page is the best guide to the day. Businesses that want to take one of the open spots can email the Chamber at [email protected]. Applications for food vendors, craft vendors, and lawn signs are posted on the same page.
The Library Covers the Weeknights Between
The Little Egg Harbor Branch fills the evenings between the bigger weekend events. Most of these programs offer registration on the library's calendar:
- Wednesday, Oct. 7, 6 to 8:30 p.m. An artist reception for Greg Rosewall in the Little Egg Harbor Meeting Room.
- Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6 to 7:30 p.m. All About Seagrass, hosted by Ocean County 4-H.
- Thursday, Oct. 15, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Teen Movie Night featuring "Twilight," sponsored by the Friends of the Little Egg Harbor Branch.
- Thursday, Oct. 22, 6 to 7 p.m. Fright Club Spooky Story Writing in the Teen Zone.
- Tuesday, Oct. 27. The Mad Scientist's Costume Parade, also sponsored by the Friends. A sensory-friendly session runs from 6:30 to 7 p.m., with general admission from 7 to 8.
The costume parade is the last Halloween-season event on the township's calendar this month. The library listings do not show a cost for any of these programs.
What the Week Doesn't Include: New Pavement or a New Restaurant
The events are confirmed and dated. Three of the physical changes people have been hearing about are still at much earlier stages.
Atlantis Boulevard. On October 1, the township advertised bids for improvements to Atlantis Boulevard under the FY2025 NJDOT Municipal Aid Road Program. The work covers milling, grading, and paving, plus storm drainage improvements, driveway and curb reconstruction, striping, and yard restoration. Sealed bids will be opened at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 23, in the courtroom at the Municipal Complex, 665 Radio Ave. The township must award the contract or reject the bids within 60 calendar days of that opening, and the project is partly funded through the New Jersey Department of Transportation. As of October 6, nobody has been awarded the work and no construction start date has been announced.
Mystic Islands drainage. The township closed a $3.6 million New Jersey Water Bank loan on February 16, 2026. The loan pays to replace about 2,300 feet of old drain pipe, add up to 2,735 feet of new pipe and inlets, and restore the roads afterward. The financing is in place. No published source gives a construction schedule.
The Oaks Restaurant and Bar. The Planning Board approved a proposed 12,000-square-foot restaurant and bar at its June 4 meeting, The SandPaper reported on June 14. The site is an undeveloped eight-acre tract at 1001 North Green St., at the corner of Route 539 and Frog Pond Road. That report did not mention construction progress or an opening date, and no newer update has turned up.
The one new business that did open this year was Mister Softee. NJ.com reported a grand opening in March at 605 Route 9 South, the former Old Pine Cone Ice Cream site. Fall hours have not been posted, so call ahead before making a trip.
For residents with questions about Atlantis Boulevard or the drainage work, the Meet the Township Committee session on October 16 is the closest scheduled public forum. It comes one week before the bids are opened.
At BHHS Zack Shore, our agents follow the same Little Egg Harbor calendar and notices you do, from the Harvest Festival on Nugentown Road to the Atlantis Boulevard bid opening on Radio Avenue. When a question about your street or your home comes up, we're glad to talk it through over coffee.
